WWO for Middle Managers
The next session of the course for middle managers will be run on behalf of the Ealing School Effectiveness Team, part of the Ealing School Improvement Services, on
Thursday 9th February 2012, 13.15 - 16.00
The overall programme looks at the following subjects, in focused and interactive stages:
- the basic starting points for effective teams and group work – trust and communication skills
- the shape and ingredients for an ideal staff team
- the various roles and responsibilities of middle managers in this team
- exploring group dynamics and how groups operate – roles and behaviours
- the difference between managing and leading
- strategies for dealing with and responding to helpful and unhelpful behaviours and roles in groups
- creating the bigger environment and ethos – the role of the middle manager in supporting and growing teams and professional practice
- stepping stones and practical ideas for developing and extending trust and communication
- action planning, personal reflection and next steps
