Headteachers

The Headteacher and senior management / leadership team are core to the tailoring of a school’s Membership package to ensure that it addresses the priorities and specific needs of the school.

WWO provides regular opportunities for Headteachers to meet together with other heads in a locality group or local area who are also implementing WWO in their schools.

This is such a refreshing change from the days of the 'pre-programmed learning from a lunchbox' series of national initiatives.
Headteacher, Yattendon

When the skills and principles of Working With Others are adopted for pupils it is crucial that the same principles of inclusion, developing self-esteem and valuing the talents of individuals are also practiced by and reflected within the staff team.

Modelling for pupils in this way also helps staff to reflect on the process of how they work together as a group – how trust is established and how they communicate and problem solve with each other. These are additional and important learning experiences that inform how the principles are taught to the pupils.

Working With Others is an excellent way of

  • motivating staff and establishing principles and ground rules for a staff team to operate effectively and inclusively.
  • developing a shared ethos and values for the whole school community
  • exploring trust among the staff team
  • identify together areas for improvement as well as strengths for the whole staff team.
The impact of Working With Others in my school has been brilliant. The approach is extremely practical and teacher-friendly and all my staff have found it inspiring.
Headteacher, Steven Potter, Plaistow and Kirdford

WWO training and support can help a staff team work more effectively together, problem solve key school issues and evaluate and reflect on progress as individuals and as a staff team.

Working With Others has also been used successfully as a change management tool for both for pupils and staff teams, where schools have been reorganised and restructured.
